| There are two categories: Free Verse (Category A) and Rhyming Poetry (Category B) each with prizes of £150, £50 and £25, and highly commended £10 Judge: Alison Chisholm Acclaimed poet, author (The Craft of Writing Poetry and many more) and columnist for Writing Magazine Deadline: 30th May 2009

Poems must not have been previously published, won an award or be currently entered in another competition

Poems, in English and not exceeding 40 lines, should be printed or typed on one side of A4 paper only, and are not returnable

Your name must not appear on any poem

Copyright remains with the poet

Entry fees are £3 per poem or 4 for £10, or £3.50 and £10.60 if paid on-line (to cover PayPal fees), payable to Northampton Literature Group

An Awards Ceremony will take place at the Northampton Guildhall on Thursday 25th June 2009, at 7.00 pm, and the winning poems will be posted on the BBC and NLG websites
