OPEN POETRY COMPETITION 2008

There are two categories:
Rhyming Poetry (Category A) and Free Verse (Category B)

Prizes:
The Nationwide Prize for Rhyming Poetry £150
The NLG Prize for Free Verse £150
with 2nd and 3rd prizes in each of £50 and £25
and highly commended £10

Judge: CHARLES BENNETT
  • Poems must not have been previously published, won an award or be currently entered in another competition
  • Poems, in English and not exceeding 40 lines, should be printed or typed on one side of A4 paper only, and are not returnable
  • Your name must not appear on any poem
  • Copyright remains with the poet
  • An Awards Ceremony will take place at the Northampton Guildhall on Thursday 26th June 2008, at 7.00 pm, and the winning poems will be posted on the BBC and NLG websites
